This service is performed by GENTRAS directly for clients or under contract to law enforcement agencies. STR genotyping can be requested in case of unlawful sexual contact, need of DNA identification profiles for persons exposed to high risk, body identification after murder or accident.
GENTRAS employs a new powerful technology, whole genome amplification, for the detection of STR and SNP signals allowing individual identification from trace amounts of DNA, in fresh and in very old and badly preserved samples.
GENTRAS also provides assistance to set or to improve forensic science infrastructures where they need to be developed.
